Kim Insua de la Cruz, MD, is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine. As Co-Director of UVA Health's Aortic Disease Program, he specializes in treating aortic dissections, aneurysms, aortic valve diseases, and connective tissue disorders.

Originally from the Philippines, Dr. de la Cruz completed his medical education at the University of the Philippines. He then pursued further training in the United States, completing his General Surgery residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center and his Thoracic Surgery residency and Aortic Surgery fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. de la Cruz's expertise and dedication have earned him numerous accolades, including teaching awards and the Fulbright and Jaworksi, LLP Early Career Award for Excellence in Patient Care at Baylor College of Medicine.
