APP Team Lead
After completing my ACNP at Duke University I worked for many years in the acute care/ICU setting before transitioning to my current outpatient role in the Duke Center for Aortic DIsease in 2013. Our patient volumes have dramatically increased through the years since I have started and we have added additional support to follow this patient population in clinic. The patients we follow include new referrals with surgical or non-surgical aortic disease as well as long term surveillance patients who are followed for surveillance imaging post- surgery or for monitoring of non-operative aneurysms. Our surgeons will perform both open and endovascular repairs of the aorta as well as combination of both (Hybrid repair). My role is to be able to understand the rationale for surgery to discuss with patients as well as review and interpret CT and MRI imaging to develop plans for ongoing aortic surveillance imaging for patients I follow in clinic. I enjoy discussing and reviewing imaging with patients to help them uderstand their diagnosis. Our center is involved in many clinical trials related to surgical repair, surveillance, and treatment of aortic disease and it is exciting to be a part of this evolving field.
