I have been dedicated to adult cardiac surgery for 26 years while serving as a faculty at leading academic institutions in Korea. I have performed over 5000 procedures of major cardiovascular surgery, including valve and aorta surgery areas. I am leading innovative heart valve surgery and official Proctor of Edwards INTUITY Elite Rapid Deployment Valve. I served as CEO of the Korean Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and currently I am President of Heart Valve Disease Forum which had MOU with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons since 2023. I am also President of the Korean Society for Patient Blood Management (KPBM) and deeply interested in patient-centered, systematic, evidence-based approach. I am expertise in complex valve surgery, aortic arch surgery with brain protection. I am member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. Another area of expertise for me is healthcare medical IT field. I have steadily thought connection between clinical practice and healthcare medical data. I am distinguished IT leader in Korea and has dedicated as CIO and IT leader for around 20 years. I am CEO elect of The Korean Society of Medical Informatics (KOSMI). I contributed to the first implementation of the Precision Medicine Platform (Syapse, US) in Korea for advanced stage cancer patients. Currently, I am head of Institute of Convergence Medicine with Innovative Technology (ICMIT) in SNUH pioneering cutting edge, high end future medicine in South Korea. As a cardiac surgeon, and as a healthcare IT specialist, I am continuously performing best clinical practices with medical IT toward futuristic medicine.
