Gregory Fontana, MD is the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Institute and cardiothoracic surgeon at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, Dr. Fontana was the Managing Director at the Heart & Vascular Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and Vice Chairman of Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has held appointments of Professor of Surgery at UCLA School of Medicine and the Zucker School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed his residency and fellowship in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Duke University Medical Center. He is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, American College of Cardiology, American College of Surgeons and Society of Thoracic Surgeons where he serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Fontana’s clinical and research interests include transcatheter aortic valve therapies, mitral valve repair and minimally invasive surgery. He is board certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. Dr. Gregory Fontana is a Physician Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at HCA Healthcare. He serves on the Cardiac & Vascular Leadership Council, Cardiac Surgery Operations Council, Valve Working Group and chairs the Research Operations Council.
