Dr. Joseph Phillips, MD FACS is an Associate Professor at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He is a general thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive robotic oncologic surgery. His research interests are in tumor immunology in non-small cell lung cancer and health services research in lung cancer and esophageal cancer. He currently serves as the Chair of the Leadership Committee for the Association for Academic Surgery. His services to the STS includes memberships on the General Thoracic PUF Database Task Force, the A&P General Thoracic Review Committee, the Leadership Institute Task Force, the Online Curriculum Task Force, the Communications Task Force, and Chair of the Mentorship Task Force for the Workforce on Career Development. He has also served as a mentor and featured speaker for several years in the Looking to the Future Scholars Program.
