Reagan Collins is a fourth-year medical student at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center applying to general surgery residency. She serves as Chair of the Association for Academic Surgery Medical Student Task Force, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator for the Association of Women Surgeons Medical Student Committee, and Executive Director of the Texas Tech University System Health Policy and Public Health Think Tank. During her medical training, she completed a research year at Massachusetts General Hospital, spearheading projects on mental health outcomes among surgeons and exploring disparities in endocrine surgery-related diseases. Reagan helped lead the Presidential AAS Mental Health Task Force, headed by Dr. Carrie Cunningham, and distributed a national survey assessing academic surgeons' mental health and well-being. Reagan aspires to a career in academic surgery, focusing on optimizing the equitable delivery of surgical care, diversifying the surgical workforce, and improving the well-being of trainees and surgeons.
