Dr. Wilder graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and from Pace University with a Master of Science in Teaching. She completed the Ohio State University College of Medicine Medical Careers Pathway Post Baccalaureate Program (MEDPATH) and went on to complete her medical school training at OSU. Her general surgery residency began at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and was completed at UCSF Fresno. She was a surgical oncology research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and completed a cardiothoracic surgery clinical fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She went on to complete her Masters of Public Health degree through Harvard University, Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Wilder has a particular research interest in the intersection between lung cancer care and social determinants of health. She is investigating barriers to patients accessing the care they need and ways to optimize lung cancer screening. She is additionally interested in better understanding the pathophysiology of lung cancer in younger patients. She looks forward to working collaboratively with patients to meet their needs while advancing the field of thoracic surgery.
