Dr. Wain received his training in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). He was the co-director of the MGH lung transplant program from its inception in 1992 until 2012. He subsequently was chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology, as well as Vice Chair of Surgery, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston. He currently is a member of the faculty of the division of Thoracic Surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He serves as the co-direct of Quality and Safety within the Division of Thoracic Surgery, as well as the Chair of the Surgical Quality Improvement Committee at Milford Regional Medical Center.
