Kari DiVito PT, DPT, CCS is Coordinator of the WVUMedicine Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy Residency. She is a board-certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia and has special expertise in the physical therapy management of critically ill patients. She is first author of ECMO mobilization guidelines published in the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal in 2023. In addition to her full-time practice dedicated to patients on ECMO, she has been a consultant with numerous hospitals interested in implementing the “Cannulate, Extubate, Ambulate” guidelines, and has presented at national and international scientific meetings on this topic. Dr. DiVito also teaches cardiopulmonary and critical care content in both the entry-level DPT program and the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency at West Virginia University.
