Professor Theo Kofidis is a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, an expert Adult Cardiac Surgery- and minimally invasive and endoscopic heart surgeon, as well as avid Innovator. A globally renowned Cardiac Surgeon, covering the entire Adult Cardiac Surgery spectrum, including Heart Failure, Robotic and Hybrid procedures, he is a strongly sought-for proctor and surgical teacher around the world.
He is the director of the A’ Heart Surgery Division and founder of the International Cardiac Surgery Centre of Greece at Hygeia Hospital in Athens,Greece. He is Founder and Owner of the Company Kardia Pte Ltd, aiming at the development of disruptive heart valve- and minimally invasive heart surgery technology. Over the last 10 years in Singapore, he has established a complete, pioneering and comprehensive Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery program in South-East Asia, and is invited to travel and operate in multiple countries across the world. He set up an advanced hemodynamic research laboratory and Cardiovascular Surgical Research Group in Singapore, after winning numerous grants. He formed two Centers of Excellence and a Peak of Excellence in the domain of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery during his tenure as Director of the University Department of the National University Hospital in Singapore, and Full Professor at the National University of Singapore. He has years of leadership experience as a director, who led his department amongst the top 100 in the world, featured by Newsweek.Professor Kofidis has trained in some of the world’s leading institutions (Rochester, NY/Texas Heart, Houston/Hannover Germany, Stanford, CA, USA). carries various offices and commitments internationally. He has lectured for the American Medical Association, the FDA, the Bill Gates Research Institute and more. Professor Theo Kofidis is married with Persephone, they have one daughter (Danae), he loves to fly airplanes, photograph, work out and read.
