Dr. Jeffrey Zampi, MD is the Director of Interventional Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition to interventional pediatric cardiology, Dr. Zampi is also a Cardiac Intensivist in the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Zampi received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience from Pennsylvania State University in 2002. After earning his medical doctorate from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY in 2006, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha, Dr. Zampi completed his general pediatrics training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC in 2009. He then completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center in Ann Arbor, MI in 2012 and stayed at the University of Michigan as a Clinical Lecturer for his interventional pediatric cardiology training. Dr. Zampi joined the faculty at the University of Michigan Congenital Heart Center in 2013.
Dr. Zampi’s clinical and academic interests focus on minimally-invasive procedures, especially in high-risk patients. These include hybrid procedures and fetal interventions, as well as transcatheter valve implantation in older children and adults. He leads several multicenter research projects to understand and improve the outcomes of patients with congenital heart disease.
