Dr. Zwischenberger is an Associate Professor of Surgery and adult cardiac surgeon at at Duke University. Clinically, she is focused on building minimally-invasive approaches to CABG, mitral valve surgery and atrial fibrillation surgery. Her current research focuses on clinical outcomes after cardiac surgery with a particular interest in sex differences and disparities in perioperative decision-making and outcomes after cardiac surgery. She is currently a site-PI for three randomized controlled trials, including Randomized comparison of the clinical Outcome of single versus Multiple Arterial grafts (ROMA), Revascularization Choices Among under-Represented Groups Evaluation (RECHARGE), and CTSN PaCES. Dr. Zwischenberger is also the Director of Quality for the Duke Thoracic Division, which initiates and maintains the multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives.
