Dr. Adam J. Hansen is a board-certified Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at West Virginia University. He completed his medical degree, general surgery residency, and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Arizona. He conducted basic science research at the Harrington Department of Bioengineering at Arizona State University with a focus on proteomics and esophageal motility. His practice spans the full range of minimally-invasive thoracic surgical procedures, with content expertise in complex chest wall reconstruction for patients with complex diseases like skeletal hypermobility disorders. His passion is to resolve chronic trunk pain by restoring functional thoracic anatomy. He has developed multiple novel surgical techniques to correct rib deformities and resolve thoracic pain syndromes. He leads an international network of surgeons that provide regional care for the same disorders.
