Elizabeth A David, MD, MAS, joined the faculty at the University of Colorado as an Associate Professor in the spring of 2022. Dr. David received her BA in Neuroscience from Wellesley College, then earned her medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She performed her general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital, then completed a Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. While on active duty in the United States Air Force, Dr. David spent six years at the University of California, Davis as an assistant professor of clinical surgery. Following this she spent four years as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
Dr. David believes in working with each patient to create a unique treatment plan that combines surgery with other therapies according to the patient's needs and comfort. Like her fellow surgeons in the Division of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. David is committed to using minimally invasive and opioid-sparing surgical techniques whenever possible.
