Together with the international partners of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Dr Takow is involved in the research and development of a registry for rheumatic heart disease and cardiac care at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital which will be valuable in generating the much needed data required to improve cardiac care in the country and possibly in the East African sub-region. In the future, Dr Takow dreams of fostering strategic international partnerships with relevant institutions to promote global capacity building in cardiothoracic surgery in East and Central Africa where access to cardiothoracic surgical care is severely limited.
