Dr. Joel Bierer completed his M.D. at Western University and is a cardiac surgery resident at Dalhousie University with a particular interest in the congenital specialty. His translational research focuses on inflammation and immunomodulatory therapies during children's heart surgery, which is the focus of his Ph.D. thesis through the Medical Research Graduate Program and Clinician Investigator Program. Dr. Bierer also has experience in quality improvement programs, which is essential for achieving and maintaining excellent patient care.
