Dr. Sabet Hashim graduated from St. Joseph's Jesuit University School of Medicine, Beirut in 1975.
After medical school, Dr. Hashim completed a general surgery residency program at St. Luke's Hospital in NYC in 1979. Next, he completed cardiothoracic residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1981. He was at Yale from 1981 until 2016. He was co director of heart trasplantation, director of valve surgery and interim chief of cardiac surgery. In 2016, Dr. Hashim became Chairman of Cardiac Surgery and Co-Physician in Chief of the Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford HealthCare. He is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hashim has received several awards and recognitions including the following:
