Moritz C. Wyler von Ballmoos, MD, PhD, MPH, is a Professor of Surgery at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU, the Executive Chair of the Heart & Vascular Service, and the System Chair of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Texas Health Resources. He specializes in surgical valve repair, complex valve surgery, minimally-invasive cardiac surgery techniques & transcatheter therapies. He is an international contributor and thought leader in managing valvular heart disease, mitral valve repair, atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, transcatheter therapies, and quality improvement. Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos has been an investigator and contributor to numerous clinical trials for structural heart disease. He serves as the Chair of the STS Workforce on Evidence-Based Surgery and in multiple other leadership positions for the STS Council on Quality, Research, and Patient Safety, and oversees the STS National Database and its quality efforts. He is a member of the ACC Cardiac Surgery Team Council leadership and the EACTS Mitral & Tricuspid Workforce.
