I am Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine, and my current local leadership positions include:

Academic Focus
My academic focus revolves around complex aortic surgery and transcatheter therapies of valvular disease. I am the Cardiac Director of the Aortic Center and perform 90% of thoracic aortic surgery at Washington University. I am Co-Director of the Structural Valve Program and Site-PI for numerous industry studies in transcatheter therapies, both for valvular and aortic disease. I am strongly committed to resident education, and on the national level, have participated in numerous hands-on and didactic resident programs through Artivion, Edwards, and others. My international educational contributions revolve around non-thrombogenic valve surgery, having participated in numerous AATS global initiatives with didactics and llive surgical training in Colombia, Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and India. My clinical research contributions are centered on diseases of the thoracic aorta, and I have been Site-PI for 6 national studies and Surgical Co-PI for 8 national transcatheter studies.
